Natural tartaric acid
We obtain natural tartaric acid from the processing of wine lees; this is an organic acid that occurs naturally in grapes.

The result is a white, odourless crystalline powder with a distinctly sour taste and an extremely high degree of purity, which is used in a variety of sectors:

The pharmaceutical industry:
It is used in the formulation of antibiotics, cardiotonic drugs and other medicines, and also as an excipient, as it is not metabolised by the human body.

The cosmetics industry:
it is one of the key ingredients in many natural body creams, thanks to its gentle yet effective properties.

The food industry:
This is the area in which it is most widely used, thanks to its properties as a natural acidifier and preservative in products such as jams, juices, preserves and soft drinks. It is also used as an additive in baking emulsifiers, as a carbonating agent in table water, and as a raising agent in the preparation of cakes and pastries.

The wine industry:
it is used to correct or restore the acidity of wine, while maintaining its balance and organoleptic qualities.

The construction industry:
it is used as a setting retarder in plasters and cements, and as a plasticiser in the ceramics industry.
Our Natural Tartaric Acid meets the highest international standards of quality and safety.
It is certified Kosher and Halal, in accordance with the dietary requirements of the Orthodox Jewish and Islamic faiths, ensuring purity and traceability for a global consumer base.
We have also been registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the US authority responsible for regulating food and pharmaceutical products.
This is a highly significant recognition that confirms the integrity, reliability and quality of our product, ensuring compliance with rigorous standards designed to protect the health of consumers worldwide.
A European label for natural tartaric acid
In 2026, the European collective trademark “Natural Tartaric Acid” was established, promoted by AssoDistil (the Italian National Distillers’ Association) with the aim of identifying and promoting tartaric acid of natural origin, clearly distinguishing it from synthetic tartaric acid.
Our company was one of the driving forces behind the initiative, which forms part of a wider effort to safeguard and promote the value of natural products, offering the market a clear and recognisable guarantee that complies with European requirements, to the benefit of both producers and end users.
